RESIGNATION LODGED YESTERDAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 22. The resignation of tho Hou. Sir James Purr, as momber for Eden, takes effect as from to-day. When the fact has been gazetted, the issue of tlie Eden writ will bo directed. The writ is returnable in 28 days.. The Prime Minister states there will be no unnecessary delay in taking the action required by tho Act. “I shall part with the portfolio of Education with the greatest regret,” said Sir James Parr, in a letter to tho Technical Education Board, “notwithstanding that for tlie past six years I have found the duties of a very exacting nature.”
