The Now Zealand amateur athletic championships were concluded to-day in brilliant sunshine, be lore an attendance of 1200. It. A. Hose, tried to break his milo record, hut a strong wind was blowing, and conditions wero against record-breaking. Won by a. clear yard, with Jenkins a foot further back. Time, JO 2-5 see. 120 YARDS HURDLES (standard 16seo)—It. W. Lander (Otago) 1, H. I). Morgan (Otago) 2, J. W. Shirley (Auckland) 3. W. Q. Kahmgher (Wellington) was the other starter. Morgan, was just clear at the last hurdle and appeared to win by inches, but Lander was given the, decision, 'rime, 15 4-ssec. , . 220 YARDS FLAT (standard 2mm) —C. H. Tavlor (Canterbury) 1, C. M. Olsen (Otago) 2, R. Gully (Wellington) 3. Gully made a. sensational sprint a furlong front home, hut compounded. Taylor won by eight yards, with two yards between and third. Time, 2min 4 2-ssec. LADIES’ 100 YARDS—Miss Porter (Wellington) 1, Miss Manton (Wellington) 2, Miss Martvn (Canterbury) and Miss Stevenson (Wellington) deat heat 3. A close finish.
