The 440 yards ladies' swimming championship of New South AVales resulted: Claire Cauldwell 1, E. Davis 2, M, .Broughton ,T. Time, dm in. 6 3-ssee. GRIER IN AUCKLAND'. Bj Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, March LM. At the second swimming carnival held in connection with his visit, R. Grier, of Queensland, won a 220 yards scratch invitation race in 2min 32 1-5 sec. Pelham was second and Cimnold third. Grier won by ten yards. A •special heat of the 1.00 yards handicap drew seven starters. The haiidieappers were hard on Grier, who swim a great race, Imt could only manage to get into third position.
