AUCKLAND, March LM. At the second swimming carnival held in connection with his visit, R. Grier, of Queensland, won a 220 yards scratch invitation race in 2min 32 1-5 sec. Pelham was second and Cimnold third. Grier won by ten yards. A •special heat of the 1.00 yards handicap drew seven starters. The haiidieappers were hard on Grier, who swim a great race, Imt could only manage to get into third position.
