SLUGGISH SALE AT CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph— Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, March 19. Tho Christchurch ram fair was concluded to-day, when stud sheep were olfered, tho total entry being 217 head. , Tho sale, except for Southdowns and best Corricdales, was sluggish. Tho top price for Corriednics was 86gns, paid by a Southland breeder, and for Soutlidow-ns 48gfis, paid by a Mastcrton buyer. A fair proportion of Southdow'ns sold at from 20gns to 40gns. The pick of tho Border and English Leicesters wero sought for fairly keenly, but indifferent sorts wero mostly passed at auction. Merinos, Romneys, and Shropshires met with little inquiry. Tho range of prices, compared with last year, w r as as *° Corricdale —1925, 11 to 220gns; 1926, 6 to 86gns. ’ , Border Leicester —1920, 10 to 42J gns; 1926, 10 to 35gns. Romney—l92s, 20 to 25gns; 1926, to 18gns. English Leicester—l92s, 8 to 9ogns; 1926,6 to 45gns. Southdown—l92s, 14 to 50gns; 1926, 11 to 48gns. Shropshire—l92s, 17J to 27-Jgus; 1926, to 25gns.
