GERALDINE.
' (From . Our Own Cornqrtiident.) FIRE IN MAIN gfVREET. Fire broke out rday morning at 6 o’clock in premises occupied by Miss Marshall, dressmaker, and Mr R.- Pugh, tearooms. When the alarm was given the Fire Brigade were on the seems promptly, and effected a good save. They confined the fire to the premises in which it originated. Mr S. U. Willß, chemist and dentist, suffered considerable loss through damage to his stock by water. The fire : penetrated to the back corner, but was eventually got under. Mr W. W. Williamson, who occupies the shop on the north side, 1 did not suffer so much, as the fire did not get through to his premises. Mr Henry removed all his stock, as did Brehaut Bros. The building destroyed was owned by Mv W. T. Turner, and was an old wooden building with two parapet brick walls, which did good service in preventing the fire from spreading. The building occupied by Mr Willis is owned by Mr Howard Tripp, At present tho insurances are not known. The Fire Brigade, under Captain J. Brett, deserve to be complimented on their smart work.
