PERSONAL.
Mr R. D. Aldworth, Te Horo, is visiting South Canterbury. Mr J. E. Henrys arrived from Wellington yesterday. Jlr W. W. Turnbull is at present on a visit to Tirnaru.
Mr F. E. Ward (instructor in agriculture for Canterbury) is at present in Timaru on departmental business.
Mr A. E. Ibbotson, general manager of the Perpetual Trustees and Agency Co., is at present in Timaru. Mr It. Hope-Gibbons (managing director of the Colonial Motor Company) left Timaru yesterday on a visit to the Hermitage and the southern lakes.
Mr L. S. Abernethy, A.R.A.N.Z., from tho head office (Dunedin) has been appointed district manager for South Canterbury for the Perpetual Trustees- and Agency Co., Ltd. Mr Abernethy arrived in Timaru yesterday and will commence his duties to-day.
Mr A. C. Hammond, New Zealand general manager for the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co., was a, passenger by tho Niagara, which sailed from Auckland last Tuesday, en route for Vancouver. Air Hammond, who is travelling on business in connection with the Goodyear organisation, expects to be absent from the Dominion lor some months.
The Minister of Health (Hon. J. A. Young) will leave Wellington to-night, and arrive in Timaru by the first express on Saturday. At 2.30 the Minister will officially open the new rooms of tlio Plunkct Society in Tekapo Buildings, and will return to Wellington by the late express on the same day.
