DEATH FOLLOWS OPERATION By Cable—-Press Association—Copyright. • Austra.'ian and N.Z, Cable Association . HAMILTON, May 1 16. ‘ At the inquest on Stanley Dunstan (30), evidence was given that following an operation in the Waikato Hospital, his heart ceased to beat for five minutes. An incision was made, and the heart massaged, and it resumed beating. The patient was apparently making good recovery as the effect of the anaestetic wore off. As, however, brain trouble 'developed, and the patient died. A verdict was returned that death was due to heart failure. FATAL MOTOR SMASH. By Teleerftph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 17. Wdliam Shefford, one of the passengers in a motor car which was struck by a tr/iin near Rangiora on Thursday night, ded in hospital at 4.15 p.m. yesterday. He had had his left leg amputated.
FOOTBALLER INJURED While playing in the Old BoysZingari match on Saturday afternoon, H ; Wilson, a Zingari player received injuries to tho head and was taken to the Public Hospital where he was treated for concussion. Late last night it was ascertained that his condition was not serious.
