TIMARU BRANCH. ' The monthly meeting- of the Timaru Labour Representation Committee was held on Saturday evening. Mr W. Tutton presided over a good attendance. The action of Councillors Kelly and Vinnell «n supporting the nomination of Mr W. Craig for the vacancy on tho Timaru Harbour Board was approved.It was decided to forward a letter of appreciation to Mr J. Dreaver (who has left the district) for the services rendered by him to the Timaru L.R.C. since its in-.eption. The question of supplying delegates’with c-.-pies of rules was considered, and it was decided to communicate with ihe national secretary with a view of securing a uniform set of rules for all L.R.C.’s. The chairman urged on those present the necessity of doing all in their power to push forward the National Campaign Fund. .The Executive were instructed to circularise all affiliated organisations, with a view of securing their co-operation, and stating the L.R.C.’s willingness to send representatives to further explain the object of the fund. A resolution was unanimously carried urging the Auckland L.R.C. and National Executive to do ail in their power to ensure that a Labour candidate should bo nominated for the Franklin electorate. It was decide I to donate £6 towards the exp.-nses.
