MINIATURE RIFLES.
TIMARU CLUB. Tiio Tim am Club held two nightly shoots last week, botli being well patronised, and the shooting well up to the Club’s reputation. The first stage of Captain Lewis’s trophy was fired for, and the following members qualified—C. Johnson, J, J’oneychffo senr. D. Sinclair, R. Cairns, C. Everett, J. Waters. All trophy ties must bo concluded the week following the shoot. The highest scores off tho rifle for the week were: W. Bradshaw, M. Cowles 70, C. Johnson, J. Thomas, W. Rennie, J. Waters, D. Sinclair W. Duncan, N. Thomson, J. Murphy 68, J. Toneycliffe junr, C. Everett 67. Tho second- stage of the Lewis trophy will be shot for this week.
OTIUPA CLUB. Hie Otipua Miniature Rifle Club held their weekly shoot on 12tli May, with a moderate attendance. The highest scores off tho rifle were:—J. Hill, ’ 68 • J. Watson, 60; G. Richards, 66; R.’ Stewart, 66; O. Underhill, 66; B Watson, 64; F. Newbogin, 64; H. Underhill, 63; J. Allen, 63; J. Tarcon 62; N. Jackson, 62. ’
WASHDYKE CLUB. On Tuesday night W. R. Grant proved the winner of Mr H. R. Harris’ trophjq with tho possible. W. R. Grant also won tho challenge. The highest scores off the rifle were:—W. R. Grant, R. Applegarth, 70; P. Coopor, F. Jackson, 69; J. King, W. Wood, S. Richardson, D. Anderson, A. Ross, W. Dawcq OS; S. Brown, D. Stocker, J. McLean, 66; M. O’Connor, W: Henderson, G. Johnstone, Go.
