IN THE CHURCHES.
A memorial service to the late Prime Minister, Hon. W. F. Massey, will be held at St. Mary’s Church to-morrow at 6.30 p.m. His Worship the Mayor and .Councillors, members the Masonic lodges, soldiers, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, and High School boys will attend. ' Suburban churches will be closod on this occasion. ■ The morning ; service. at the Baptist Church will' bo conducted by Mr. J. Priestly, of the Sudan United Mission, in the evening an in memoriam service to the late Mr W. F. Massey will be held. The Rev. H. G. Goring will speak on “The Challenge of a Life. On Tuesday evening the Rev. 1; E. Harry will give a humorous lecture * “A Cure for tbe Biues.” There will bo a collection. The Rev.:’ T. Stinson will conduct both services in Trinity Presbyterian Church to-morrow. The Rev. I. E. Bertram, M.A., of St. Paul’s Church, Oamaru, will conduct the special services at Pleasant Point on Sundpy, his subjects being: “Sowing for Life’s Harvest,” and “The Fruitage of Life.” He will remain to give his popular lecture, “The Blessing of Laughter,” at the annual social on Monday evening. The Rev. G. 1). Falconer will preach in St. Rauls Church, Oamaru. The services at the Congregational Church on Sunday will be conducted by the Rev. 1\ Wilson Potts. A memorial service for the late Hon. W. F. Massey will be held in the morning. The morning' service in Chalmers Church will bo conducted by the Rev. A. Begg, M.A. The subject of Ins address will be “The Waters Made Sweet.” The evening service -will bo in memory of Bight Hon. W. 1 1 . Massey, and will be conducted by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes. The choir, will sing “Crossing the Bar” (Barnby), .and Mr S. Anderson will sing “Requiem” (Homer). At Bank Street Methodist Church to-morrow night Mrs W. I. Tait will sing: “I Know That My .Redeemer Livetb.” A memorial service in memory of Mr Massey will be held, and Rev. A. C. Lawry will preach on “From Shipboard Bible Class to Westminister Abbey Memorial.” At "Woodland Street Church Rev. H. J. Odell will continue his special evoning sorvices, .and Mr Parker will sing a sacred solo.
