A jury in a Noav Jersey Court rendered a verdict for 36,981 dollars in favour of John Elihu Body, of Cooma, New South Wales, in an action against Loeb Brothers, New York. Mr. Body agreed to furnish the Loebs with rabbit skins for the season -1920 against letters of credit. Loebs. failed to accept shipment of the third and fourth lots, which were then sent by Messrs Dalgety and Coy., Mr Body’s agents, to NeAy York, and London respectively, where they were sold at a sacrifice.
The vei’dict represents the loss tntailed, with interest, to date.
The Court dismissed. Loebs’ defence that the skins were not of good quality, holding that the same Avere good and seasonable merchandise.
