Henry Kempthorne (41), married, was found dead on the mam road near Sockburn.- He was last seen unj’ 0 riding a bicycle and it seems as if he had collided with some vehicle, as his skull was fractured and liis body terribly injured. If a car did strike him, and there is little doubt about this fact, then the motorist must have callously made away into the darkness without stopping to find out what damage had been done,
DEATH FROM MOTOR ACCIDENT By Telegraph—Press Association. INVERCARGILL, May 15. Mrs. Archibald McEwan (80) was knocked down by a motor driven by a youth last evening, sustaining a fracture of both legs and an arm. She was removed to hospital, where she f.uccumbed an hour later.
