Mr N. M. Orbell returned to Timaru from Christchurch yesterday. Guests at the Hydro include Messrs A. G. Cox (Adelaide), H. ArclierBowker (London), A. S. Hubert (Kelso), and J. Philip (Invercargill). Sir John Roberts, Mr S. K. Sleigh, and Mr C. Rattray, of the Board of Directors of the Union Steamship Co., passed through Timaru yesterday afternoon. . A cable message .announces tliat the Rev. Foreman has been elected President of the New South Wales Alliance, in succession to Rev. S. B. Hajnmond, who has resigned. The Executive of the South Island Dairy Association has decided to nominate Mr F. Waite as a candidate directly to represent the producers of Otago on the Dairy control Board.
