(From Our Own Correspondent)'. CHURCH PARADE. ' On Sunday morning tho Territorials, at present in camp at Temuka, the Mayor and Councillors, and tho Municipal Band, attended divine service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church. The Rev. 'G. V. Gerarffi of Tiniaru, assisted by the Rev. A. H. Norris, Cashmere Hills, Christchurch, conducted the service. There was a large attendance, every available seat being . occupied. The Rev. G. V. Gerard gave a most inspiring address, taking for his subject tho words, “Behold tho Man,” from the sth verse of the 19th Chapter of St. John. After Matins tho Rev. A. H. Norris officiated at tho Communion service, there being a good attendance bf communicants. Tho Rev. A. H. Norris also conducted tho service at .tho Maori Pa at 8 a.m., and at Waitohi at 3 p.m. OBITUARY. MRS 0. COLLINS. At an early hour on Sunday morning, after a short illness, there passed away at Epwerth, Temuka, another highly respected and well-known citizen in tho person of Mrs Carolina Collins, widow of tho late Mr John Collins. She was predeceased by her husband about two years ago, and .leaves 5 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 sons (Mr L. J. Collins of Waimate, and Mr B. N. Collins of Balclutha), and two daughters (Mrs N-. A. Baillio of Rangiora, and Miss Olga Collins, Temuka), to mourn their loss. She was born in Temuka 53 years ago, and was tho second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Simon Norton. The remains will be interred at the Temuka Cemetery to-day. PERSONAL. Tho Rev. A: H, Norris arrived in Temuka on Saturday to perform tho ceremony at Winchester of unveiling the tablet to the late Mr J. R. Orford. Mr Norris returned north yesterday, “THE CYCLONE RIDER.” Lincoln J: Carter has turned out another melodrama for .Fox, called “The Cyclone Rider,” which-comes to Temtika to-night. In this picture are crowded more thrills than were contained in his last year’s work. Rood Homes, as Jim Kent, an automobile racer, has the male load, and Alma Bennett, as Doris Howard, has tho chief feminine role. Tho plot oentres around a demand by Doris’s father that Jim show him £SOOO within ten days in order to get his consent to marry his daughter. In those ten days fiatrons will find enough thrills to Inst hem ten years. Excellent supporting pictures will also bo screened. NOTES. Tire woolclassing class, in connection Vrith the Technical School, will bo held this evening at 7.15, The dressmaking classes will bo postponed until Thursday, 21st inst.
