Mrs J. C. Miller, Geraldine, is back from Christchurch. Mrs A. Talbot, Evans Street, has returned from Kakahu.

Mrs H. Dobie, Wai-iti Avenue, returned on Tuesday from Dunedin. Mrs Rule, Christchurch, is staying with Mrs Percy Rule, Avenue Road. Mr and Mrs Maurice LoCren have cone into their homo in Beverley Road. Mr and Mrs J. C. Oddic, LeCren Street, leave to-day for Mount Cook. Mr and Mrs W. H. McColl, of Geraldine, are in Christchurch. Mrs G. Sheldon, Winchester, has gone on a visit to the West Coast. Mr, Mrs and Miss Duggan are leaving by the Manuka for Melbourne. Miss A. White and Miss E. Falconer, Christchurch, are the guests of Mrs IT. R. Bennington, Otipua Road. Miss Hounsell, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs C. S. Young, Craighead Street.. Mrs H. G. Tollan, who lias been staying with her mother, Mrs W. A. Jones, Fairlie, has returned to Akaroa. . Captain and Mrs Mclntyre, Otipua Road, left yesterday for New Plymouth, where they intend residing. Mrs George Dcnnistoun, Peel Forest, is visiting her sister, Mrs Robinson, Kaikonra.

Miss D. Bowden, who has been visiting friends at Peel Forest, returned on Wednesday to Christchurch. Mrs F. J. LeCren, Seaview Terraco, returned on Thursday from Christchurch.

Mrs George Cray, Seaview Terrace, left on Wednesday for a fortnight in 'Christchurch. Mrs Stanley Goodman, Rathmore Street, returned on Tuesday from Invercargill. Miss Thomas gave a very interesting address on women’s clubs, and made some excellent suggestions thereupon. ! Tlio Orari Ladies’ Hockey Club held a social on Wednesday evening, which was largely attended. The hall was tastefully decorated with streamers. The music was supplied by Aliss Morgan, and extras were played by Alisses Cotterill and Bren ton. Air H. J. Brenton made an efficient AI.C. During the evening Air Carter contributed several songs that were appreciated. Among those present were: Mesdames W. Smith, H. J. Brewer, G. Blissett, W. Watson, J. Henderson, J.
