GOLF.

GERALDINE CLUB. On Saturday last there was a stroke competition on the Geraldine links. There was a large attendance, and. the Misses Williams dispensed afternoon tea. The membership of the Club is now S2, with a prospect of still more nem members. T: Rugg lias now been appointed groundsman, and the links are now getting into good order, the greens being very fast. A number of good scores have been made, tho best being D; Macdonald’s 2 under bogey witnout lus handicap. The Club had a worthy representative in the present ladies’ championships for Canterbury, Miss C, Withers being runner-up, Tho following were the best scores for Saturday last: —Seniors, Miss Withers 89 (5) 84, R. Volekman 91 (18) 73. Juniors, Aliss Earnic 109 (36) 13, A. J. Aiacdonald 111 (36) 75, To-day a-match will be played against Temuka, commencing at 1.30 p.m. sharp. Cars will leave Union Bank at 12.30 p.m. The following are the team :—Ladies, Aliss C. Withers, Airs. Kerr, Aliss E. Sherratt, Airs Ritchie, Al'ss Crowe, Aliss A. L. Alcllroy, Aliss Hawkes, Aliss R. Withers. Alen, Air D. Aiacdonald, Sherratt, Withers, Sheldon, Kerr, Vollunan, AlcEwan, Readdie. Emergencies, Aliss Ramie, Airs G. R. Sherr,att, J. C. AlcLeod, and R. Alcllroy. Players will play in the above order. It will be an open day on the links for the rest of the Club.
