KING’S PRIZE.
Won by Anderson, Waituna.
TRENTHAM MEETING CONCLUDED
8y Telegraph—Press Association,
TRENTHAM, May 7. The New Zealand Rifle Association’s meeting was concluded to-day. The fight for the Belt was shorn of interest by the leader’s ten-point advantage at the start. The weather was excellent, the best seen for years for a King’s Match. The wind was light from the right, and easy to follow as a rule, but alternating bright sunlight and clouds caused elevation troubles. Nicholl and Anderson, the leaders, occupied targets 12 and 13 respectively in the middle of the range. At the end of the shoot the cards read—Anderson 4,3, 5,3, 4,5, 3,5, 5, 5—42; Nicholl 5,5, 3,3, 5,4, 5,3, 4—40. Meantime ' Keir (sixth) and Guiney (eleventh) had been engaged in an interesting contest, each getting on 47, and coming up to second and third places in the final. Their tie required a shoot off, Keir winning. It is worthy of mention that the King’s Fifty included eight B. grade men and six tyros. So ends the 1925 Bisley. . •
