LADIES' BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.

To the Editor of the Thames Advertiser. Sib,—This shall be ray last on this subject. I must confess that I cannot fimt language sufficiently strong to denounce such a shameful robbery, for no thing less can it bo called, taking away from the sick and destitute rainey subscribed for their relief, to pay advertinng accounts and to purchase music stands. I cannot think that the Masonic society is to blaiue for this discreditable business, although some one connected with them must be; this we must leave to them toclear up. This the society will be expected to do, to refund £4 7s 6i to the Ladies' Benevolent Society. Jiecently it was announced, through the Press, that the sum of, I think £100, was. placed t) the credit of the lodge benevolent fund; this placed in contrast with the subject of this letter does not look well. Hearing to-day that the Northern Pioneer Lodge ol Good 1 emplars deducted some expenses from the amount collected at their Sunday services in March last, which they divided between the Ladies' Benevolent Society and the Hospital, I made inquiries from their treasurer and learnt that the amount collected was £7 4s 6d-amount paid to the Ladies' Benevolent Society £312s 3d, to the Hospital £3 12s 3d —Yours, &c., A Well Wisheb to the Society.
