RIFLE ASSOCIATION PRIZE FIRING.
A simultaneous rifle match has been arranged to come off between 10 men of the Thames Eifie Associetion and 10 men of the Wangamri Association. A match took place on Saturday to determine the 10 highest of our local association who are to compete against the Wanganui team. The ranges were 400, 500, and 600 yards, 7 shots each, but no sightiag shot. Entrance fee 2s 6d, to be divided into five prizes. The weather was hot and wind puffy from the right rear, notwithstanding which, and the absence of some good shootists who are not members of the association, or who could not be present, there were Borne excellent scores made. The following ace the 10 highest, the five first being prize winners:—
It will be observed that a fine average of 60 points per man was made. The match against V/anganui will cjme off some time next week.
