Thames Advertiser Office, Friday Evening. Mr Edwin Binney reports:—During the week there has been a better demand for goods, and a fair and moderate trade has been done. Flour and produce are firmer. Flour has been quitted in parcels at my quotations. Oats are nomiually worth 6s 3d to 6s 6<l, but there are so few in the market that consumption is limited, Maize is in fair request at 7s 3J, whilst for a parcel a shade under might be taken. The steamer 'Hero,' from Melbourne via Sydney, arrived in Auckland yesterday, after a protracted passage, and the mail steamer ' Cyphrenes' is due to morrow; and it is to be hoped some better arrangements have been made for forwarding the Thames portions of the mail than has hitherto existed, Quotations for produce, &c., during the current week: —Southern fl jur, according to brand, £13 to £14 per ton ia sacks, 10s extra for 501b and 1001b bags; Californian, superior sample, £16 per ton; Adelaide, town brands, £17—no charge for bags on above; maize, 7s Id: oats, 6s 6d; barley, 4s 9d to ss; bran, Is 6d; pollard, £8; barley dust, £8 per ton; wheat. 5s 6d to 6s; oatmeal, 265; pearl barley, 265; jams, 7s 6d to 7s 9d; t'rt fruit, 10s.
