The South British, New Zealand, and National have paid|their losses, £4,000 in all. Ekefton, Tuesday, 6 45 p.m. In No. 2 South Larry's claim stone has been struck said to be equal to the Caledonian. Napier, Tuesday, 7 pm. Messrs Dinwiddie, Morrison, and Co. are the successful tenderers for tbe right of advertising on the Napier railway lines—the Spit to Napier, Tarndon, Hastings, Pakipaki, and Waipukurau. Dunedin, Tuesday, 7.50 p.m. At a meeting of tbe Harbour Board today, a letter was read from the Government stating that they would be prepared to hand over everything connected with the harbour department to-morrow. The chief harbourmaster being the only officer placed under the entire control of the Board, the financial committee-recom-mended that the Board's account should be placed in the Colonial Bank; on the subject of debentures that mortgage forms for £50,000 be prepared. The term of the loan is thirty years from the first January next. Interest and principal to be payable at Dunedin, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, or London, the first issue being £20,000. Kesolutions to give effect to the committee's recommendations were adopted. Mr J. L. Gillies is appointed treasurer. It is stated that the Board has £60,000 in band.
