(Per Anglo-Australian Telegraph Press Agency,) ■Auckland, Thursday, 7.10p.m, At the meeting of shareholders of the Golconda G. M. Co., held to-day, the directors report showed that the income during the year had been derived from calls alone, no work having been done during that time, owing to the difficulty experienced in paying off the heavy liabilities of the' company, but when the calls were paid up the company would be nearly out of debt, and in possession of plant, landed property, and machinery ready at any time to re - commence operations. The number of shares had • been reduced during the year by forfeiting 3,348, thus increasing the interest of those who .paid calls, William Compton was re-elected a director.—A small house occupied by Felix Monaghan, at Ilowiok, was burned down. It was insured in the New Zealand office for £75.—A fire occurred at Mrs Waters' farmhouse, Papatoitoi, which destroyed a largo two-storey building. It was insured in the New Zealand office for £600, and in the Norwich Union for a similar amount.—Sailed: The barque ' Harriet Armitage,' for ■ Sydney ; schooner 'Dauntless,' for New Caledonia; and barque'Moneynick,' for Wangaroa and Dunedin, with timber.

Tho ' Pretty Jane' has just arrived from Qisborne. She has been 10 days out. It was blowing heavily, and she was unable to make way. She had a cargo of sheep, of which she lost 250. The passengers were some days living on mutton, being out of provisions.—The ' Southern Cross' is coming in from Ohiwa; she leaves to-day for Auckland.
1.27 p.m. • The gale is increasing, accompanied by squalls. The 'Pretty Jane' is in a dilema-wanting coals. The ■ steamer ' Southern Cross' reports the weather along the coast fearful. She had a sail blown away owing to the fierceness of the gale, and was unable to get inside Ohiwa. She bumped Heavily on the bar, b,ut fortunately swung round, and returned back to Tauranga. Both steamers remain in port till the weather moderates.-
