POLICE COURT.—Yesterday.

(Before J. KJMOTO, Esq., ir.D., J.P,', and E. W.PtJOKEy, Esq., J,P.) Dhunkenness. — Richard Davis, a coloured min, was charged with having been drunk and disorderly in Owenstreet, on the 4th instant. He pleaded guilty. He said that, being the 4th July (Independence Day), he forgot himself.— bame defendant pleaded guilty to having made use of profane language.—Mr Bullen said that the language complained of was only such as might be made be made use ofiby a drunken man. . He would not press for a penalty in this instance.—Fined 20s and costs, or 48 hours' imprisonment—Edward Burns was charged with being drunk aind incapable on the sth instant. It appears the defendant got out on bail, and "was rearrested . some. after for being again drunki There was a third charge against the accused of having committed a breach of the Municipal Police Act, in having been three times convicfcedof drunkenness within three months.—Mr Bullen withdrew this latter charge, and' defendant';' for the two first offences, : was fiped 20s and costs, or ; 48 hours'imprisonment.'— Alexander McNeil'was "fined 103 and costs, or in default 24 hours' imprisonment, for having been drunk and incapable . .
