. At the coroner's inquest on Mary Cotter, the medical evidence showed that death resulted from natural causes, and not through the sleeping draught. A verdict to that effect was returned.—At an inquest held at the hospital on the body of Fenton Campion, who was burned at Kiverhead (as reported a few days ago), a verdict of doath from natural causes was also returned.—The Harbour Board have appointed a committee to consider the question of the pilot station. It is proposed to remove it to Eangitoto reef,—Sailed: s.s. An important Lauds Court is being held to investigate tho title to the Horohoro block, one hundred thousand acres of which had been previously disposed of to the Government.—The telegraph line betwixt Maketu and Opotiki was completed to-day, but owing to the station at Opotiki being unfinished, there will be no communication for a fortnight.
