FOOTBALL.

THE RUGBY GAME. The Star Football Club has discovered that its chances of being able to put a full team in the field in the Thursday senior competition are very small. At a mooting of the club’s management committee last night it was decided to recommend the members of the club to rescind their resolution to remain in that competition, and to enter the Saturday competition instead. This recommendation will be submitted to a general meeting of the club on Monday evening. The annual meeting of the Civil Service Club was to have been held last night, but the only persons who put in an appearance at the appointed mooting place were the secretary, another member, and two pressmen. The meeting was therefore adjourned until'Monday evening. The football match which was to take place between the Old Boys and the High School to-morrow has been postponed till Saturday, April 29.
