UNION OF LABOUR.
A PROPOSED CONFERENCE

. CHRISTCHURCH, April 20. At the Trades and Lal-ottr Conference to-day the following tohgram was received from Blr. Glover, secretary of the Blincrs’ Federation of Labour: “Useless having conference at prwv<; t, our representatives not having power to act. BVould suggest, you appoint representatives to meet our conference when-in session.” : The following resolutions were arrived at: “That a delegation he appointed to meet tho .Minors' Federation, tho delegation to he instructed to urge that the basis of amalgamation he the decisions of tho Trades and Labour Conferences and the constitution of this federation” ; that in the event of amalgamation not being agreed to in terms of tho resolution passed, the delegation confer further with the Blincrs’ Federation for tho purpose of drawing up a provisional constitution for an amalgamated federation, and that such constitution he submitted to a plebiscite vote of affiliated unions, and on a majority declaring for the same such constitution shall he adopted and a complete amalgamation declared effected.” Tho following were appointed as a delegation to wait on tho Minors’ Federation in July:—Blessrs. Reardon, Fnrrant, Raul, Young, Reader, Horning, and Jackson.
