ALLEGED MISMANAGEMENT.

WELLINGTON, April 20. At the City Council meeting to-night tho sail-committee appointed' to meet tho tramwnyniGn’s representatives in. reference to certain demands reported that it was not in a position at present to make recommendations, pending the proposed investigation of tho management of the traffic department of the tramways undertaking. Tho sub-com-mittee recommended that tho Mayor be empowered to obtain tho services'of an expert to report. In the discussion that followed it was disclosed that Mr. Gadget, of Hrishane, is the export in view. Sonic councillors objected that the council’s own engineers should report iirst. It was eventually resolved that this lie done, hilt the Mayor was authorised to discover in the meantime what a report by an export would post. The tone of the discussion indicated that the present traffic arrangements are not satisfactory, it being considered that tho running of oars could be carried out to much bettor economic advantage.
