ALLEGED WIFE MURDER,

Victor Gaubert has been arrested for the murder of his wife Eliza, in tho village of Lappone, near Marseilles. The circumstances resemble tho Crippcn case. Eliza disappeared in October, her husband alleging she had gono to Mauritius. Later, he announced hor death, and married Antonia Sidolles, a village girl. They left their home during repairs, and the workmen noticed that the tiles in the scullery were uneven, and discovered the body of Eliza. Gaubort states that Eliza and he had a violent altercation over Antonia, and she suddenly dropped dead. Fearing arrest, he buried the body.
