ST. AUBYN TOWN BOARD.
Tho monthly meeting of the St. Aubyn Town Board was held last week, Mr. G. E Blanchard presiding. There were also present Messrs. Hodson, Lealand, Putt and Russell.
Correspondence was read from ratepayers on the Belt Road asking a footpath bo formed from tho South Road to the bridge over the Mangatuku Stream. —Tho foreman was instructed to prepare an estimate of the cost of the work.
Tho Secretary of the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board notified that the board’s contribution towards the cost of hospital maintenance and charitable aid administration for tho ensuing year would ho £3l Cs Bd.,
It was decided to secure permission from tho West End School Committee and Mr. F. Gilbert to lay 9in drain pipes through their respective properties, any damage done to asphalt in tho school grounds to bo repaired by the hoard. If tho reply is satisfactory the chairman was authorised to deal with the matter.
The chairman’s action in employing labour to break ’a small quantity of metal at 3s 6d per yard was confirmed.
Tho clerk was authorised to get tho supplementary roll typed. Tenders for the biro, of horse and cart and man wore dealt with, that of W. Hayle at 12s 6d per day being accepted. Mr. Parkin’s tender for the supply of 600 yards of metal to be delivered at ’tho rate of 30 yards per day at 7s 6d per yard was accepted. The clerk was instructed to write to the Borough Council to tho effect that the board was liable for tho electric light charges as from March 31. The chairman gave notice of motion for next mooting to strike a rate of lid in tho £ to include hospital rate, bridge rate and general rate.
