DUNEDIN. April .10. Tho tennis tournament was continued to-day in splendid weather. . The finals of tho ladies’ singles championship and combined doubles championship were decided. Some of tile handicap events are yet unfinished. Following are the results:— . Combined Doubles Championship.— Fourth found; Olivier and Miss Miles beat J. S. Sinclair and Miss Hislop, o—3, G—o. Semi-final; Olivier and Mias Miles boat A. D. Caldor and Miss A. White by default. Final; Ollivier and Miss Miles beat Tucker and Miss W. Tucker, 6—4, 6—3. Ladies’ Singles Championship.— Final: Miss Campbell boat Miss W. Tucker, 6—l, 6—2. ■WANGANUI TOURNAMENT. (Special to Herald.) « WANGANUI, April 19. Play in the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association’s annual tournament was resumed this morning, when most of tho finals wore reached. J. O. Nicholsoft scoured tho singles championship, beating M'Caul in the final 6—l, 6—3. Miss Hartgill won tho ladies’ championship, defeating Mrs. Payne in tho final 4—G, 6—5, 6—3. With Miss Williams Miss Hartgill was also successful in the championship doubles, beating Misses Brewster and Thomson in tho final 6—l, 6—3. The brothers Wybourne won the championship doubles from Powdroll Bros.' at 6—3, 6—o. . ( Tho combined championship went to M'Caul and Mrs. Gordon, who defeated Nicholson and Miss Brewster 6—3, 7—6. Tho men’s A grade handicap singles is not completed, while V. Morrin defeated F. 0. Harrison in tho B grade (CO—36). Miss Hartgill in the handicap singles was once more successful, this time defeating Miss L. Thomson in tho semifinal and Mrs. Hosso in the final (00—48). Tho men’s handicap doubles are also not completed, Wanganui players only remaining in. Tho combined handicap went to Anderson and Mrs. Anderson, who defeated Webster and Miss Thomson (50—18) in the semi-final and Wybourno and Miss Barker (50—45) in tho final.
