WELLINGTON, Feb. 1. A cable dated January 30" from the High Commissioner, in London > states: Mutton. — The market is weak with dull sale for all qualities. There is no change in prices to report. Lamb market dull. The arrivals from Australia during the last fortnight amounted to 204,026 and from Argentine 49,109. This season's New' Zealand lamb, other than Canterbury is quoted at Sfd. • Beef. — The market is steady with a moderate supply of chilled beef. Hindquarters 3|d, forequarters 3d. Butter. — The market is quiet but steady, and there is a fair local demand. Current quotations: Choicest New Zealand Ills, Danish 115s, Siberian 102s, Australian 107s, Argentine 107s. • , Cheese.— Tho market is steady with a very good demand. Makes 60s, coloured 615. - "
Hemp. — The market is dull with very little business doing. Curront quotations; Good fair grade on spot 24s sd, fair grade on spot. 235. January to March shipments good fair grade 24s sd, fair grade 22s sd, fair current 235. Manila.— Last week's output amounted to 22,000 bales. ■\Vool — The market is .a shade weaker. Bradford tops have declined }d.'
