BIENNIAL, ELEPTION.

Nominations of candidates for the biennial election of the NewPlymoutn Harbour Board closed with the return--ing officer, Mr. C. S. Rennell, «at noon to-day. From .the Now Plymouth, Taranaki, Egmont, and Waimate wards only one nomination each was received, and no election will be necessary m these districts. For the Stratford anrl the Eltham wards there are two candidates in each* district and elections will be held in these districts on tho Bth inst.
