PERSONAL.
The name of Mr. C. A. Hickson, Commissioner of Stamps, has (according to a Press Association message) been erroneously included among those who would possibly be retired under the age limit regulations. He is not yet 65 years of age. Mrs Black, wife of Mr Wilfred A. Black, solicitor, who is well known in New Plymouth and Stratford, is dead. According to private advice received from Taihape, Mr Black, on reaching home on Saturday night, found the door locked and could mako no one hear. He therefore climbed through a window, and on getting inside he found the body of his wife lying in the passage between the jkitchen and tho dining-room. He tried remedies for her revival, and summoned medical aid, but life was pronounced extinct. At an inquest tho medical evidence showed that death was deemed to be due to syncope , possibly following a shock. There were no traces of the house having been disturbed, or any injury to deceased, and there was no clue iis. to the cause of the shock. The greatest sympathy is felt for the bereaved husband. Deceased was a stepdaughter of Mr Tom Rapley, formerly of Stratford and now of Wellington.
