AT the desire of several of the inhabitants of the Thames Goldfields, I hereby request the Miners and Public generally to MEET at the Academy of Music, Grahamstown, on Saturday next, August 31, at 4 p.m., to take into consideration the recent PROCLAMATION of the Coromandel Peninsula and Upper Thames Country to be a district which the Governor desires to purchase under the provisions of “ The Immigration and Public Works Act.” And, also, to consider the question as to whether the Goldfields should be purchased by the Government or by private individuals. Empowered by special Aels of Parliament and by Royal Charter, in the reign of Queen Anne, to undertake all business connected with Life Assurance, IS A PURELY MUTUAL OFFICE. The Norwich Union Life Society has no distinct body of proprietors ; the insurers at large are the recipients of the savings of the institution : the premiums paid, being in fact only deposits, revert to those who contribute them. SETTLEMENT POLICIES. To meet one of the greatest wants of the day, the Norwich Union issues Policies in the nature of settlements, whereby a mau in solvent circumstances, provided the matter is bona fide, may secure (WITHOU" the risk of bankruptcy) a certain and direct provision for his family. RESOURCES. Irrespective of the immense annual revenue this Society gradually and surely on the increase, it possesses a reserve fund of £2,300,000 and upwards, available for its requirements. RATES OF PREMIUM Arc framed as low as are consistent with the clue safety of the Society, and its Actuary is calculated to be one of the most competent authorities in England, the Court of Chancery having recently had to avail themselves of his experience in these matters : and although apparently higher than most offices, assurers should not lose sight of the fact that they receive it back either in bonuses or additions to the sums assured, and, in electing to assure in this Society, they also avail themselves of the experience and safety of a concern that time has proved to be secure against all chances. LOANS. Surrender values are given for Policies of 3 years standing, or LOANS GRANTED ON SECURITY of same. FOREIGN TRAVEL. Permitted to all parts of the globe in properly decked vessels and in time of peace. PARTICIPATION OF PROFITS. In this office it is anticipated that persons entering at 20 will be relieved from further premiums at 44 40 will be relieved from (urther premiums at 60 50 will be relieved from further premiums at 66 Medical fees arc paid by the Company, and there are no charges for Stamps, Policies.
