Per tlie New Zealand Press Association. CHRIS'ICHURCH. Saturday. J. C. Wilson and Stevens are the probable candidates for Hall’s sent. The fifteenth section, schedule A, of the Stamp Duties Act is to be petitioned against. Many persons are being vaccinated, and stringent measures are being taken to prevent the introduction of small-pox. Quarantine is to be strictly enforced. GREYMOUTH. Saturday, A memorial embodying the resolutions in favour of a Provincial elective Superintendent has been adopted. Ahaura also approves of Harrison’s recommendation. HOKITIKA. Saturday. The County Council, at a meetiug on the 19th, considered the necessity for changing the County administration, in a very warm debate. The chairman was instructed to draw up a series of resolutions pointing out changes which in his opinion were necessary. A resolution was adopted requesting half the salaries of v.he Warden, Acting-Magistrate’s clerks, and bailiffs, to be paid out of the colonial revenue.
