THEATRE ROYAL.

Last night, at the Theatre Royal, was certainly one of the most enjoyable that wo have had during the present season. An immense bill had been announced, and a very good house was the result, notwithstanding the Education Bill meetting, at the Academy of Music, which no doubt kept many away. The performance commenced with a most sparkling comedy, entitled “ Book the 3rd ; Chapter Ist,” which certainly is one of the best tilings we have seen for a long time. Miss Colville acted splendidly, and Mr Hoskins warmed up to Ins subject in a manner that carried the house with him. This comedy is a remarkably well written one, and the language throughout is far above the ordinary run, the interest in the expected denouement never being allowed to flag for an instant. Madame Therese and Mons. Sclnnidt, the Celebrated dancers, next appeared in“ The Painter’s Illusion,” and afterwards in a character Spanish dance, called “ La Mo.iola. “ The Serious Family,” that immense comedy, concluded the entertainment, and sent every one home most thoroughly pleased with their night’s amusement to dream of Amiuadab Blcex and Lady Smverby Creamly. ToMiignt Mr Hoskins takes a benefit, when “ Humlet ” will he p educed' with Mi Hoskins as Hamlet, Mr Perrier as the Ghost, and Miss Colville as the Queen of Denmark. Madame Therese and Mons. Schmidt will also appear in “ The Painter’s Illusion,” ami otliei character dances.
