MRS. MITCHELL’S CONCERT.
Mrs Mitchell’s annual concert takes place this evening at the Theatre Royal, and we perceive by advertisement that a very attractive programme is announced, in which most of our best amateur vocal ists take part. Several very careful rehearsals have taken place, and everything may be expected to go off very well indeed. The weather is the only drawback, and no doubt this may prevent many attending who would otherwise wish to he present. We trust, however, that “Jupiter Pluvious” will be kind to-day, and allow the roads to get a little dry. During the evening we are informed that Mr H. Williams, late captain of the T.R.R., will he presented with a testimonial from the members of the company which he has for some time commanded. SergeantMajor Grant, too, is to be presented with an address and a purse of sovereigns by the members of the T.R.lt. corps. The concert is under the patronage of the Volunteers in general, and also of the Odd Fellows, who we have no doubt will muster well.
