ARRIVAL OF THE S.S. STAR OF THE SOUTH. The cattle steamship Star of the South, Captain Holmes, arrived at Tararu from Napier yesterday. She left Napier on Tuesday, the 18th inst., and experienced N.E. breeze cross Hawke’s Bay ; anchored under the Mahia Pcninsuiq for twelve hours in consequence of tlnl strong head wind ; left at 11 a.m. on "Wednesday; had strong easterly wind up to the East Cape, and a strong S.W. wind from the East Cape up the Frith of Thames, when she arrived as above. Cargo—s 7 bead of cattle, and 324 sheep, to the order of Messrs Banks and McHardy, in good condition. We are indebted to the first officer of the Star for our usual files.
