WELLINGTON. Wellington. The Independent of to-day urges the enforcement of the quarantine regulations on all vessels from San Francisco with tne slightest signs of small-pox on board, and also urges that greater attention should be paid to vaccination. CANTERBURY. Christchurch. Messrs Hart, Jelison, and the Rev. Mr Bluett are candidates for the representation of Coleridge in th eGeneral Assembly'. They have all delivered their first addresses, and have all expressed views favourable to the present Government. A resolution in favour of Bluett was passed. WESTLAND. Hokitika. The s.s. Albion has taken 3,870 ounees of gold to Melbourne.
