SHORTHAND WESLEYAN ANNIVERSARY SOIREE.
The soiree in connection with the Shorthand Wesleyan Church came off last night. The tea was served in the Presbyterian School-sootn, tallies being provided by Mesdantes Heron, Keniick, Godltard, Joynt, Mrs and Miss Russell, and other lady members of the church. Owing to tlie extreme inclemency of the weather, many were absent who would otherwise ha\e attended. After tea an adjournment took place to the church in Willonghbystreet, and a very pleasant hour was spent in listening to addresses from the Rev. Mr Williams, Mr Keniick, the Rev. Mr Bntland, the Rev. Mr Bullcr and others. The choir of the Grahamstown Church was in attendance, and gave several selections in a very beautiful manner, amongst which were “ Awake ” and “The King of Glory.” We are compelled to curtail the report of the proceedings, owing to the arrival of the English mail.
