Rifle Association Prizes. THAMES RIFLE ASSOCIATION. SECOND ANNUAL PRIZE MEETING ■’i' Will be held on MONDAY, TUESDAY. WEDNESDAY. AND THURSDAY, 27th, 28th, 2*Jth, and 30th May. AT THE TARARU RIFLE RANGES, Commencing Each Day at 8 a.m. sharp. WEAPONS —Any large Bore Muzzle-load-ing Rifle or Carbine, carrying Government Ammunition, to be used in All Matches, the Ist and 2nd excepted, at which any weapon will be allowed. * Tics decided by Wimbledon regulations. Disputes settled by an Umpire appointed by the Council, whose decision shall be final. All entries must be made with the Secretary on or before Friday next, 24th May, at 7 p.m.. after which date double entries will be charged. Two sighting shots allowed at each range —Gd the first, Is the second. FIRST DAY. Ist Match.—All Comers. Ranges—2oo and 300 yards ; Wimbledou targets; position, any ; 5 shots each range ; small bores to allow one point per shot. Ist prize, £3 and pair duelling pistols ; 2nd, £2 and gold breast pin ; 3rd, £1 and meerschaum pipe ; 4th, 10s and rifle; nth, one pair trousers and vest; Gth, one volume Shakespeare and half dozen beer; 7th, saddle mutton and pair razors ; Bth, 1 pair ducks and 1 bluudcrbus ; oth, half-year’s Evening Star ; 10th, lib. tobacco and knife. 2nd Match.—Special, competitors to be members of the Association, who have competed in the All Comers’ Match. Ranges—ooo and GOO yards ; second-class targets ; position, nny : ymn.ll boros to nllow 1 point
per .shot. Ist prize, £2 and Sir linger Tichborne ; 2nd, £1 aud Coromandel scrip (To key). Highest aggregate score in above two matches to receive small bore match rifle, value £2O, presented by Mr J. \V. Walker. 3rd Match.—Second Class. 200 and 300 yards ; third-class targets ; position, any ; 5 shots each range. Ist prize. 30s and hair guard; 2nd. £1 and gold pin ; 3rd, 10s and meerschaum pipe ; 4‘h, one fender ; sth. half-year to Guardian ; Oth, leg mutton and three bottles salt; 7th, joint of meat; Bth, wax taper aud slaud ; 9ih, Coromandel scrip (Tookey). 4th Match—Second Class. 400 aud 500 yards ; second class targets ; any' position, five shots at each range. Ist prize, & 1 and suit of clothes (Moses) ; 2nd, £1 and revolver ; 3rd. 10s and fifteen Highland Chief scrip ; 4t.h, two bottles sherry ; oth, leg of mutton ; 6th, two bottles sherry and patent cork-screw. Prize for highest aggregate in 3rd and 4tli match—lst, one alarm clock ; 2nd, one cake ; 3rd, furniture ; 4th, Coromandel scrip (Tookey), SECOND DAY.

THIRD DAY. 6th Match—First Class. 200, 500, and 600 yards: any position ; Wimbledon targets ; 7 shots each range ; in squads, arranged by lot.— Ist, from Btol2 ; 2nd, from 12 to 4. Ist prize, £4, and interest in freehold allotment at. Tararu, (11 Graham), and one gold pin ; 2nd, £2, and mcerschuam pipe ; 3rd, 80s, and half-year's Adrertixcr : 4th. £l, and cigar case (B'andcs); sth. 10s. and pair of shooting bools ; '6th, brace of pheasants. and 2 bottles champagne ; 7th, Highland brogues, and pair of slippers; Bth, 15 Highland Chief scrip, and 2 Bird-in-Hand scrip : 9th, meerschaum pipe ; 10th nymph in cradle, and leg of mutton. Aggregates in sth and 6th matches, Ist, prize, association medal, and £5; 2nd. £2, and suit of clolhes and brush ; 3rd, £l, and table lamp ; 4th, sporting rifle. List of squads in first class will be posted in Secretary’s office on SATURDAY. Competitors who may desire to exchange places must give a written notice to the Sect clary.
FOURTH DAY. 7th Match —Consolation, 300 yards ; secondclass targets ; 7 shots: position, any: to commence nt 8 a.m. : Ist prize. HI, and pair of window sashes ; 2nd. 15s, and teapot ; ;»rcl, 10s, and map of goldfield : 4th bible and kerosene lamp; sth, one pair of razors and three bottles castor oil; Oth, one pair razors and three bottles blacking ; 7th, bag of chaff: Bth, thcee-legged pot. Bth Match.—Ladies. 300 400, and 500 yards ; second-class targets ; five shots at each range ; position, any ; to commence at !)30 a.m. Ist, gold brooch and child’s cradle ; 2nd, gold earrings, pair of vases, and aromatic scout bottle ; 3rd, wedding ring and cake, and child’s chair; 4th, writing desk and proof engravings ; sth, guitar; Gth, grenadine dress (ball) ; 7th, pair vases, and brush and comb (ivory) ; Bth, pair dress boots and set jet ornaments ; Oth, fan and scent bottle : 10th, pair of boots and photograph of Governor Browne; 11th, child’s feeding-bottle and teething powders, and three boxes figs.
