VOLUNTEERING.
PARADES. The Thames Engineer Company mtisleml at Finnimore’s store, Albert-street, last evening for drill. There were about 20 rank and file. Lieutenant Brodie and Sub-Lieutenant McCullough were also present. The latter officer bad on the new uniform ado* ted by the company, which consists of a full dress scarlet tunic, with a handsome collar, blue trousers with a broad red stripe, and a forage cap with a silver band—rather a handsome uniform. We hope soon to see the whole company in their new dress, which is, in many respects, the same as that worn by the Auckland Engineer Company. The Naval Brigade mustered very strongly at Fraser and Tinties building, and were drilled in the manual and platoon and marching evolutions. The building is, without doubt, the best drilling shed in the district, there being a good earth foundation to parade on, causing no noise whatever through the stamping of feet, &c. Tlie T.R.R. Cadet Corps assembled at the Thames School last' evening. There was a good muster and the youths arevery smart in their movements.
