HELENSVILLE. PROGRESS OF WORK ON THE KAIPARA RAILWAY.
The works on the Kaipara Railroad are being pushed on vigorously during fine weather. The wharf at the Helensville terrninnsis approaching completion, under tue able unningement of Mr Dmidas, the contractor, who also int.nds commencing the bridge across the Kaipara River in a few days. Altogether, Helensville looks very brisk There are three buildings in course of erection, one -a very large store convenient to the terminus—being built by Mr R. Lamb. We have also received an addition to our river boats, or coasting fleet, in the launch of a splendid cutter, about 16 tons, called the Enpheniia, built to the order of Mr John Land), Waitemnta Mills. She reflects great credit on her builder, Mr Charles Simcock, of Kaukapakepa, who has lately turned off several very smart craft from his building yard. A combination of the settlers in this and the adjoining districts are about to offer a handsome reward in hopes of securing the party or parties who have been carrying on wholesale cattle-stealing for the last few years.—Correspondent Cross.
