Empowered by gpecial Acts of Parliament and by Royal Charter, in the reign of Queen Anne, to undertake all business connected with Life Assurance, IS A PURELY MUTUAL OFFICE. The Norwich Union Life Society has no distinct body of proprietors ; the insurers at large tire the recipients of the savings of the institution : the premiums paid, being in fact only deposits, revert to those who contribute them. SETTLEMENT POLICIES. To meet one of the greatest wants of the day, the Norwich Union issues Policies in the nature of settlements, whereby a man iu solvent circumstances, provided the matter is bona fide, may secure (without the HISK of bankruptcy) a certain and direct provision for his family. RESOURCES. Irrespective of the immense annual revenue of this Society gradually and surely on the increase, it possesses a reserve fund of £2,300,000 and upwards, available for its requirements. RATES OF PREMIUM Are framed as low as are consistent with the due safety of the Society, and its Actuary is calculated to be one of the most competent authorities in England, the Court of Chancery having recently had to avail themselves of his experience in these matters : and although apparently higher than most offices, assurers should not lose siglitof the fact that they receive it back either in bonuses or additions to the sums assured, and, iu electiug to assure iu this Society, they also avail themselves of the experience and safety of a concern that time has proved to be secure against all cliauces. LOANS. Surrender values are given for Policies of 3 years standing, or loans granted on SECURITY OF SAME. FOREIGN TRAVEL. Permitted to ali parts of the globe in properly decked vessels and in time of peace. PARTICIPATION OF PROFITS. Iu this office it is anticipated that persons entering at 20 will be relieved from further premiums at 4-t 40 will be relieved from further premiums at GO 50 will be relieved from further premiums at 06 Medical fees arc paid by the Company, and there are no charges for Stamps, Policies, fee. The great and increasing demand for crushing power at the Thames is a sufficient guarantee that t would prove a highly remunerative investment. It is purposed to employ the capital of the Company as it is called up, after paying for the- Battery, either iu erecting additional stampers, or in purchasing Machinery for the treatment of Tailings. Applications for Shares will be received up to October 10th, by Mr. Kirkwood, Auckland, and Messrs. Dean and Co., Grahamstown, from whom prospectuses and further information can be obtained.
