DIXON’S NO. 1 GOLDMINING COMPANY.
Tiie annual general meeting of shareholders was held yesterday at the office of the company, Canada Buildings, when the directors’ report and balance-sheet for the six months ending 31st March, 1872, were read and adopted. The financial position was considered satisfactory, 1 lie sum of £438 remaining at the company’s credit after payment of all accounts, including those incurred in entering the main tunnel from Tinker’s Gully, and in constructing a tramway about 900 ft. long to tiie Ballarat and Clunes Battery. From the reports of the mine manager and the mining surveyor, it appeared that the tunnel above referred to will command an immense extent of stoping out on the main reef, and that regular crushings would be commenced in about three weeks from the present date. The retiring director, Mr Joseph Howard, was re-elected, and Mr Charles Alexander was appointed auditor for the ensuing year. —• Cross.
