ACCIDENT.
An accident, which providentially was not attended with very serious results, took place at the United Pumping Association’s building yesterday, to a man named Bernard Donelly, employed by the contractors for building the stack, which is now all but-finished, and consequently some idea may be formed of the height the top is from the ground—about GO feet. Donelly was engaged in sending bricks to the top of the stack, and whilst he was stooping down, a brick fell upon him from the summit, striking him violently on the hip. He was at once conveyed to the hospital, where, we are glad to hear, lie is doing favourably. This is one of those cases which the Miners’ Accident Fund is well calculated to meet. Donelly, whose age is about 34, has, we are informed, a wife and family dependent upon him, and had the fund been in full working order, and Donelly been a subscriber, he and his family could have claimed its benefits as a matter of right.
