MINERS’ ACCIDENT RELIEF FUND.
A meeting of the Executive Committee of the above fund was held last evening at the Governor Bowen hotel. There was a majority of the committee present. Mr Corlett in the chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary staled that he had received a cheque for £SO from the Directors of the Caledonian G.M.C., and had paid the same to the treasurer. It was proposed and seconded that the Secretary should purchase the necessary account books for the Fund. The Secretary announced that 34 of the miners working in the Una Company s .mine had already become subscribers. Mr Donnelly announced that 25 miners in the Golden Crown mine had also become subscribers. The Secretary was instructed to employ a man to deliver to the various mine managers subscription books and cards of membership. The meeting was then adjourned until Monday, May 0, at 7.30 p.m.
