The charge of murder against the native Karaitiana has been dismissed, the police offering no evidence, as they were unable to find any trace of the remains of the alleged murdered man. WANGANUI. April 20. A man named Michael Maddigan attempted suicide by jumping off the, new bridge ; fortunately he fell into shallow water. He is very severely injured in the back.
