The great diamond, weighing I<U carats which lias been found at the Cape anil is now on its wav to England, is already furnished with its legend. It is said to have been found in the wall of one of the native huts, where a poor Irish adveuturer had received hospitality for the night, and that being surprised by the light shining amid the darkness. lie had, upon examination, found it to proceed from a clump of the earth of which the wall was built. Of course the clump was soon detached by the visitor, and this new Koli-i-noor. with many other smaller diamonds found within. It is rumoured that Miss Nilsson will appear no more on the European stage, but will marry and retire into private life as soon as her engagement in this country is over. She is said to have made 150,000 dollars since she came to America, scarce a year ago. The champion temperance man lives in I 'anbury, Connecticut. He has signed the pledge 83 times.
