CONTRADICTION.

To the Editor of the THAMES GUARDIAN. Slit, —You will oblige the Undersigned if you will be so kind as to contradict the specimen crushing of the Golconda in your valuable paper of the 14th inst. The said specimens were crushed at the Providence Test Batter}', and not at the New Zealand. By altering the said report you will oblige—Yours truly,

Messrs Morris & Evans, Proprietors of the Providence Test Battery, Coromandel.

To the EiUtor of the THAMES GUARDIAN. . Sir, — I, Hoani Nalie, one of the Committee of the Parawai Races, publish my words that both the Europeans of Shortland and Grahamstown, and also the Maoris, may hear what we, the Committee, published in a newspaper about those races. Wc, the six of that Committee, said that no horses from Auckland, Tauranga, or Coromandel were to he allowed to enter these races. Through the Europeans despising this people, the Maoris, that advertisement has not been adhered to, and the horses from the places that were prohibited have been allowed to enter. Now, listen ! I have heard that yesterday, the 18th day of March, that is St. Patrick’s Day, that this was said, that the Thames has lost, that the Maoris are put aside, that is that the horses of Auckland, Tauranga, and Coromandel have taken everything. When I heard this I said “serves them right” that the Europeans should say so ; for what was said was not for the Maoris of Sliortland, but for the Europeans, that is for the ones that allowed tliG Auckland, Tauranga, and Coromandel horses to enter, for the horses, that won were all out of Graliamstowu Sliortland. This is to let the Committee of the next races he on their guard.—l am, &c., Hoani Nahe. March 19th, 1872.
